this is one of the most beautiful things i have seen in a while.
andy yang is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with visual and sound. working on
his brand, he painted on each one of his papers. name cards, letterhead, envelopes.
the whole process was recorded so he could make what he calls ‘live’ soundscapes.
it’s captivating.
you can find him here.
all this makes me think about a recent exhibition by clay witt
at second street gallery here in charlottesville.
during february, clay spent three weeks actually in the gallery creating his art.
i’m not sure the word art describes
the elegance and intricacy
of what he does well enough, but i’ll go with it.
the point of mentioning both of these artists tonight is that they
have encouraged people to watch them do what they do.
i think that matters.
